all and in all recalls the nature of God’s immanence. He is active in all things to bring about his purposes to ‘the praise of his glory’. He is the creator Father who calls upon all to turn to him in repentance and faith and who must be obeyed for he is over all. This is part of the church’s confession and witness to the world. The unity demanded of the church is designed to proclaim to the world one God, Father, Son and Spirit who is to be worshipped by all who wish to find salvation.
